“Moon Gazing” is a titled piece depicting an Opah or Moonfish, ‘Akamanbo’ in Japanese, gazing up towards the night sky.

This 70 lb Opah was provided by commercial fishermen of San Diego. It’s massive and impressive, yet has a very approachable appearance.

Each gyotaku is a handmade original. The composition is similar but each piece will differ in subtle ways due to the medium and process.
